Our Team

The Numeracy Achievement Program (NAP & NAP 2.0) exist to support Manitoba School Divisions to improve student
achievement in mathematics. NAP provides a core structure to build and improve teacher capacity in mathematics
through a deeper understanding of curriculum, instruction, and assessment, with the goal of improving student
achievement in relation to outcomes. The Numeracy Achievement Program focuses on strengthening mathematics
instruction through using specific student data which informs teachers about how best to differentiate their
teaching and to personalize their own professional learning.

Over the past eight years, NAP has endeavored to support students and educators by providing effective math
instruction based on our understanding at the time. However, significant changes have occurred during this period,
including the impact of the pandemic, advancements in mathematical knowledge, evolving school contexts, among
others. It is now imperative for us to reflect on these changes and embrace our professional obligation to evaluate
and reassess the program. Consequently, we are embarking on research and development efforts to create what we
are terming NAP 2.0, integrating insights gained from our reflections and on lessons we will learn.

The Manitoba Rural Learning Consortium is pleased to serve over 30 rural and northern school divisions providing professional learning opportunities to over one thousand Manitoba educators annually.
